Mattress construction and features
Allswell mattresses are designed with your comfort in mind. Most models offer a blend of some or all of the following features. Learn more to determine which ones are your must-haves.
- Hybrid foam and coil construction: This is a hallmark of the Allswell brand. Often, mattresses' internal support systems consist of either foam layers or coils. Allswell blends the benefits of both by incorporating coils for firmness and foam for soft cushioning. Hybrid mattresses don't transfer motion to your partner when you move at night, and they work well at relieving pressure on your joints.
- High-performance cooling memory foam: One common complaint people have with some foam mattresses is that they retain heat. So they're not always ideal for people who sleep hot. Allswell mattresses feature cooling memory foam that's engineered to channel heat away from your body at night. The foam can also distribute heat more evenly through the foam.
- Edge support: This helps mattresses keep their shape. Edges can start to sag after you've been sitting or lying on them for a while, which causes your mattress to become lumpy and uncomfortable. Some Allswell mattresses feature edge-support systems that protect the inner springs and keep your mattress's edges level and squared off.
- Quilted top panel: Quilting is the finish on the top of your mattress; it's the diamond-shaped stitching you see in the outer fabric. Allswell's quilting helps keep the padding on top of the mattress in place so it won't bunch up or get clumpy. It can also make the upper fabric more durable.
- 12-inch and 14-inch heights: Allswell mattresses come in a variety of heights. If you're taller, a higher mattress is more comfortable to get onto and off of. That's also true if you have joint issues or pain. Because these mattresses don't need box springs, you also might prefer the added height of a 12- or 14-inch model.
- Temperature-regulating foam: Cooling memory foam helps keep you refreshed, but temperature-regulating foam takes your comfort to the next level. These systems typically feature several layers of different foams that work together to keep the mattress temperature even all night long. They also don't warm up too quickly.
- Euro top: Similar to a pillow top, a Euro top adds extra padding and comfort to a mattress. With a traditional pillow-top mattress, you can see the separate edges of the topper sticking out from the mattress. With a Euro-top design, the padding is sewn flush with the surface of the mattress. It isn't a separate layer atop the mattress; instead, it's integrated, so it's smoother. It can be easier to keep sheets on Euro-top mattresses.
- Handles: Sturdy, sewn-in handles make it easy to move your mattress wherever you need to put it. Reinforced seams ensure the flexible handles stay attached to the mattress.
What's CertiPUR?
As you shop for an Allswell mattress, you'll notice these products labeled as having CertiPUR-US certification. Traditionally, many mattress companies make their foams using potentially harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, heavy metals like lead, fire retardants, and other substances that can damage Earth's ozone layer. Many of these chemicals emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are gases that can be harmful to your health and the environment. These aren't materials you want in your mattress foam.
In the CertiPUR-US program, a non-profit organization evaluates foams and looks at their composition. It runs tests on the foams to determine whether they're free of many of the harmful chemicals and metals that are common byproducts in foam manufacturing. Allswell mattresses carry CertiPUR-US certification. This means that the independent organization has rigorously tested Allswell mattress foams and found that they don't (and won't in the future) emit harmful gases that can irritate or hurt your body and home. You can rest easier knowing that there are no hidden downsides to sleeping on an Allswell mattress.
Bed-in-a-box convenience
One of the most convenient features of Allswell mattresses is their easy setup. Gone are the days of hauling your mattress home tied to the top of your car or taking the day off work to wait for delivery personnel to come set up your new bed. Allswell mattresses come vacuum sealed in portable boxes. Yours will arrive at your doorstep, and you simply need to bring it inside to get it ready.
When you unbox your mattress, you'll find it flat and sealed in plastic. Unroll it along the end of your bed frame. Cut off the first layer of plastic and remove it. Position the mattress on the frame. Once the plastic is off, the mattress will start to expand to its full size. It may take up to 48 hours for the mattress to reach its full height.
